Fontaine is coming to Genshin Impact, as version 3.7 offers players an official look into the nation's Visions through the newly introduced character Charlotte. While the fan concept Visions from Genshin Impact has been a popular choice to highlight the creative side of the community, HoYoverse's take has always been rather minimalistic rather than elaborate. Each Vision aesthetically corresponds to a nation (and supposedly the nation's deity which granted the Vision holder elemental power). For example, despite hailing from Mondstadt, Thoma bears a Pyro Vision of Inazuma, just as he received a blessing when he was chosen to be a fixer for the Yashiro Commission.

Although Charlotte is not yet a playable character, she is the first Vision holder from Fontaine that Genshin Impact players have encountered. A news reporter for The Steambird, Charlotte is poised to bring another unique aspect to the table once she joins the party's roster: She is Genshin Impact's first Cryo Catalyst character. With version 3.8 of Genshin Impact allegedly not introducing any new characters, all signs point to Charlotte being introduced alongside a significant chunk of the Fontaine cast in version 4.0.

The Vision adorns a pouch strapped to Charlotte's right thigh, signifying her status as both a citizen of Fontaine, and as someone who earned divine favor (that of Focalors or otherwise). While players had expected Fontaine Visions to be richly detailed, the final design, made of brass, evoked subtle, subdued images of waves, industry and fleur-de-lis. These elements combine to illustrate the basic concept behind Fontaine in "Genshin Impact": a steampunk France surrounded by waterfalls.

Replacing Charlotte, version 3.7 introduces Kirara to Genshin Impact as the latest addition to its growing roster of characters. A Dendro Sword user who specializes in support, Kirara is also capable of sneaking up on intimidating critters such as pigeons - a unique trait previously reserved for Aloy, who was part of a limited collaboration with Horizon franchise developer Guerrilla Games. As a 4-star character, Kirara joins the banner re-runs for both Yae Miko and Yoimiya, the latter of whom also receives her second story quest chapter.

While the Genshin Impact leak has revealed much about Fontaine's cast, and the region itself, it will not be long before players get to try it all out for themselves. Version 3.8 of Genshin Impact will revolve around Eula, complete with her long-awaited banner re-run, as well as introducing a new temporary zone for the duration of its flagship event. Most importantly, it will also be the final chapter of Sumeru - with the Archon Focalors and the City of Justice opening their doors to travelers sooner rather than later.
