As you fight enemies and explore the world in Diablo 4, you will have the opportunity to collect a vast number of items. Some of them are beneficial to your character because they improve them, while others are complete and utter garbage. However, there are some of them that might look quite nice, and you will most likely want to maintain their cosmetic effect. The transmogrification system, as well as the dyes and pigments, are covered in this Diablo 4 guide for your convenience.

The transmogrification system explained for Diablo 4

The Wardrobe, which is located in the Kyovashad inn, is where players can gain access to the transmogrification system in Diablo 4. You will pay a visit to this city at the beginning of the campaign. Since Kyovashad is the most important hub in the Fractured Peaks, this particular feature will be present in the city. However, if you get the chance to travel to other hubs or major cities in subsequent acts, you may also come across it in those locations.

You will not, by default, have access to the designs of each piece of armor and weapon in the game's inventory. You will need to make your way instead to the Blacksmith. It should say unlocks new look on salvage whenever you move the mouse cursor over an item, along with an icon of a pickaxe. These indicate that the design of these gear pieces can be permanently preserved for use in transmogrification if they are reclaimed and salvaged.

Anyway, let's get back to the transmogrification system and Wardrobe in Diablo 4. You'll see the Appearance tab, which is analogous to the part of character creation where you changed your character's face and markings. You'll also see the Wardrobe tab, which is where we'll make some alterations to the character's outward appearance. The gist is as follows:

You have the ability to alter the appearance of your headgear, chestpiece, gloves, leggings, boots, primary hand weapon, and secondary hand weapon. Once more, the options for your transmogrification are limited to the items that you salvaged in advance.

You also have the option of selecting a pigment or dye from the options that are presented to you.

You are given the option to choose a cosmetic loadout or combination of some kind within the Ensemble section. You have the ability to instantly change the appearance of your character's gear pieces based on each configuration that you save.

After you have finished, you can use the inventory panel to activate or deactivate a transmogrification per slot.

How to change the appearance of your equipment in Diablo 4

Head on over to the Wardrobe, which can be found near the wardrobe icon on the map that... looks like a wardrobe, in order to alter the appearance of your equipment. You should have no trouble locating it in any major city. The transmogrification screen can be accessed by interacting with the wardrobe. In this section, you can change the appearance of your equipment by selecting the piece of gear you want to transmogrify and then selecting an alternative piece of equipment from the list that appears below it. You also have the option to change the color of your armor by selecting a pigment in the panel located to the right of the bottom of the screen.

Open up your inventory and move your mouse cursor over the piece of gear you want to get rid of your transmogrification for. To revert the piece of equipment back to its default appearance, choose the "Hide Transmog" option from the drop-down menu.

How to gain access to additional clothing options in the Diablo 4 game

Visit the blacksmith in any of the towns, which can be identified on the map by the icon depicting a hammer and anvil. When you interact with the blacksmith, a menu that lists salvage will appear on the left, and your inventory will appear on the right. You'll notice that certain pieces of equipment in your inventory have a pickaxe icon in the upper right-hand corner of their respective boxes. This icon indicates that a new appearance can be unlocked by salvaging that particular piece of equipment. You can salvage any item in your inventory by going to the left-hand menu, clicking on the pickaxe icon, and then clicking on the item you want to salvage.

In any case, the ability to transform into other things is just one of the many features that can be found in the main city. Our guide to the city and hub of Kyovashad contains information about the other cities.
